Islamic Family Law In Indonesia explores
The principles of Islamic law that derived from Quran and Prophet Tradition, and family law that implemented in history and muslim world nowadays including Indonesia. Besides, this subject tries to answer the empirical problem of family in the contemporary society.

Objective
The students of The Faculty of Law of UII can be able to :
1. Understand The development of Islamic Family Law in Indonesia
2. Explain how to apply Islamic Law in the field of Family Law in Indonesia
3. Analyse problems of Family law in contemporary world from Islamic point of view

Subject Matters
1. The modern legislation in the field of the family law at beginning of twentieth century which entered and influenced on the Moslem family law.
2. The modern legislation in the field of the family law at beginning of twentieth century which entered and influenced on the Moslem family law in Indonesia.
3. The characteristics of modern legislation was unification, codification, written and the certainty of law
4. The method of family law reform
5. Law on Marriage 1974, Law on Marriage Implementing Regulation No. 9/1975 and The Compilation of Islamic Law in Indonesia Book 1 including :
Foundation of Marriage, Prerequisite for Marriage, Prevention of Marriage, Dissolution of Marriage, Marriage Contract, Rights & Responsiblities of Husband & Wife, Property Acquired during Marriage, Dissolution of Marriage and Its Consequences, Position of Children, Rights and Responsibilities between Parents and Children, Guardianship, Miscellaneous Provision, Transitional Provisions, Final Provisions.
6. Inheritance Law covering:
Inheritance Relation, The Estate and Related Right, The Law of Will, The Classification of Inheritors, The Step to count the Cases in Islamic Inheritance Law, Asabah, the Problems That Emerge in Islamic Inheritance Law, The Comparative Perspective Between Sunni School and Islamic Law Compilation of Indonesia
